Mia Grace arrived on April 22, 2008, 12 days before her due date. She was 5 pounds 13 ounces, and 20 inches long. Her arrival was on Earth Day - in fact, I went into labor that morning, and between contractions somehow managed to put together and distribute our Earth Day newsletter to the Chicago Kids subscriber list!

I started ChicagoKids.com in Fall 2001, and since then have been producing this site as a non-parent. That might seem a little strange, but I have a long history of working with kids and kids programs. Now, I'm looking at the resources and information on my own site in a new light. It's of course too early for me to begin taking part in the activities listed on the site, but I'm certainly paying more attention and I hope that this new role of "mom" will provide me with even more insights to share with you through this web site.
