Day Camp: Grades Pre-K-8
Overnight Camp: Grades 3-10
Located on 180 wooded acres with a sandy beachfront on Wooster Lake, Camp Henry Horner provides a north woods experience in Chicago's northwest suburbs.
Campers enjoy outdoor adventures, water-based activities, cultural programs and socializing in a safe, family-style environment. A well-balanced program ensures campers of all ages, sizes and skill levels experience the summer of a lifetime.
Plentiful sports and adventure opportunities provide physical activity and encourage campers to stretch their limits. Onsite amenities include a high ropes course, zip line, field sports, basketball, gaga and archery. Fishing, boating, blobbing, beach and water play, and swim lessons and recreational swimming in a heated outdoor pool provide refreshing relaxation and low-impact exercise.
Cultural programs encourage creativity, expression and learning through arts and crafts, dance and music, cooking and outdoor education, age-specific field trips, and themed Fridays. Evening programs with themed dances, pool parties, and community building around the campfire promote healthy social interaction and foster long-lasting friendships.
A warm, friendly atmosphere encourages campers to relax and enjoy each moment to the fullest. Campers leave with new friends, lasting memories and additional life skills.
Camp counselors travel from around the world to spend their summers at Camp Henry Horner. The counselor-to-camper ratio is 1:7. Overnight living spaces are clean, comfortable, air-conditioned.
